What the agent did
Dougs, his French accounting software, had no API. He had one Opus agent build an open-source CLI while another reviewed every change, then let his agent work on the real books. It pulls missing invoices from Gmail, fixes VAT booked the wrong way and shows him a plan before anything is written.
Result, as claimed
In one afternoon: uncategorised operations 183 → 4, 22 missing invoices pulled from Gmail and attached, ~60 changes written to Dougs, 3 overdue VAT returns surfaced. Before his VAT refund claim, the agent went through all 34 foreign software invoices and fixed every one booked wrong.
This is the result as the person described it in public. It has not been checked and is not a typical outcome.
Proof
Try it yourself
Let a coding agent work in your online accounting through a command-line tool, find missing receipts and VAT errors, and wait for your approval.
Prompt
"Read the dougs skill and tell me what needs attention in my books." (from Tom Eberle's dougs-cli README). Not on Dougs? Our starter version: "Using [accounting tool] and my read-only business inbox, list bank lines with no receipt, match invoices from my inbox by amount, date and vendor, and flag foreign software invoices that may be booked with the wrong VAT. Show me the full plan before you change anything."
