A weekly "Payback" bot found $735.48 in money owed and overpayments on its first pass

Tina Bean @TinaMBean · United States · Grok Bot

What the agent did

She set up a Grok Bot called Payback to find money she is owed or overpaying and help her get it back. It runs weekly passes for trials about to turn paid, duplicate subscriptions, price increases on recurring bills and Amazon return credits.

Result, as claimed

"First pass found $735.48!"

This is the result as the person described it in public. It has not been checked and is not a typical outcome.

Try it yourself

A weekly check of your inbox and transactions for money you are owed or overpaying, with draft requests to get it back.

Difficulty: Beginner

Prompt

Each week, go through my [inbox] and [bank or card transactions] and find money I am owed or overpaying: forgotten subscriptions, free trials about to turn paid, price increases on recurring bills, missing refunds, Amazon return refunds and open return windows. For each, show the amount, the evidence and a drafted request. Keep a monthly receipt that counts only proven wins. Do not send anything or cancel anything without my approval. (Adapted from Tina's public Payback template description.)

Tools

Steps

  1. Add the template or paste the prompt into your agent.
  2. Connect the inbox and accounts you are comfortable sharing.
  3. Review the first pass and approve the requests worth sending.
  4. Count only money that actually comes back.

Watch out: Found is not the same as recovered, so track which requests turn into real refunds.
